Getting into an open-source can be quite intimidating as a designer. It's not something that you can just wake up in the morning and start doing if you've never been a designer before. From a high level, let's "design" our first open-source project, complete with quick methodologies, tips, tricks, and some extra bits.

8. Starting out with contributing to open-source as a designer can be intimidating and confusing based on the level of features you see already prepared with little or no documentation for designers.

11. Resources: tailored towards how to contribute to open-source as a designer. Thanks to Open Source Design, Open Source Initiative and others creating design related content in relation to Open Source
12. Conferences: tailored towards open source for designers on a large scale, like what is happening right now.
13. Tools: Developers/companies needs to create more tools to help aid designers contribute to open- source effectively.
14. Designers need to understand how to communicate with Developers and Developers have to understand how to communicate with Designers
15. Getting started with OSS
16. Open-Source in a nutshell is a free software built by the community for the community with improvements shared across different technical talents.

18. How can a designer begin contributing to open-source?
19. The GitHub issue tab is the best place to start out.
20. Evaluate a chosen project’s workflow, user experience, colour combination and every component.
21. Never start a feature without consulting one of the project authors, if its a valid add and how it can also be improved.
22. Coming up with alternative design patterns, but raising an issue in relation to why, how and timeline.
23. Prototype your designs properly if you are contributing to an OS project where they careless about design so as to convince them of how this feature is supposed to work and not the way it currently works.
