2. Today, all “training” starts and ends in VZLearn. But “learning” can happen anywhere. What if we could capture those experiences? 2
3. 3 Tomorrow, we capture training experiences that happen outside of VZLearn. And store them in a true Learning History. Learning happens naturally and training apps work with each other.
4. 4 Tin Can is the next evolution of capturing training experiences, and makes it possible to collect and aggregate data from many disconnected training sources. A VZLearn API will expand its reach to places where communication has been difficult or impossible. 5. 5 Explore & Prototype Pulled together a core team to build a prototype that explores how Tin Can can improve the Learning Experience. This demonstrated how many applications can communicate to create a more holistic experience. VZTube implements Tin Can tracking on videos. OLTs use the Tin Can API to talk with the LRS. Learner activity is synched across applications.
6. 6 VZTube Video Sync Employees can start a video in one place and finish in another. New Hire Scavenger Hunt of Verizon Resources New Employees learn by doing, with a leader-board tracking activity. Training Library Document Tracking Mark a PDF as “completed” (read/acknowledged) in VZLearn. Inline Knowledge Check Embeds QuestionMark assessments are embedded within the content, without requiring additional launches. Implementation Ideas
7. 7 Next Steps Talk with innovative leaders in L&D and the Areas about existing problems. (We’ve already met with key members of LTO and GTM leaders.) Talk with Rustici (Tin Can spearhead) and the industry. What are others doing with learning data? Evaluate reporting capabilities of Tin Can & VZLearn. How can we aggregate learning data in new ways? Outline concrete use-cases of our Tin Can or API needs. Prioritize with VZLearn IT.
