Small talk about using relays with Arduino.

3. DEFINITION 1. Electrical operated switch. 2. Toggle on/off by energizing a coil. 3. Amplifier (large amount of power with low power).
4. HOW DOES IT WORK?
5. • Iron core wrapped around by a copper coil. • Poles and throws (contacts). ELECTROMAGNETISM

APPLICATIONS • Amplify a digital signal (control high voltage with a low voltage signal). • Control of multiple electric circuits by one signal. • Isolate the controlled circuit from the controlling one. • Logical functions (AND gate - serial, OR gate - parallel, etc). • Circuit breakers. • Many more.
7. PLUGGING A RELAY TO AN ARDUINO
8. • VDC (Volts of direct current) - 5V or 3V. • Amount of volts to control (AC / DC). WHICH ONE TO BUY?

11. WARNINGS • If you are working with high voltage be careful. • Unplug the power before you solder, add or remove pieces.
