We all want to be that awesome, magic developer, who's opinions mater. For this we need 2 things: to be actually good at our job and we need others to see our value. Mostly dev talks concentrate on the 1st step, but this talk is about the 2nd step. As surprising as it may sound it is true: using marketing techniques can elevate our conversation skills, it forces us to concentrate more on the audience and makes us more co-operational and less combative.
