  1. BERKLEE'S INTRODUCTION TO MUSIC PRODUCTION AT COURSERA.ORG Hi, and welcome!

my name is John Tinjaca, I’m from Bogota, Colombia. I’m taking the Berklee's Introduction To Music Production at Coursera.org This lesson is for week 6, part of the assignment; I will be comparing the graphical interface of four different synthesisers. showing where the Oscillator, Filter, Amplifier, Envelope, and LFO sections are.
  2. Operator is an advanced and flexible synthesiser that combines the

concept of “frequency modulation“ (FM) with classic subtractive and additive synthesis. It utilises four multi-waveform oscillators that can modulate each other’s frequencies, creating very complex timbres from a limited number of objects. Operator includes a filter section, an LFO and global controls, as well as individual envelopes for the oscillators, filter, LFO and pitch.
  3. Oki Computer 2 is a compact wavetable synthesiser, a specialist

in digital lo-fi sounds that hails back to the era of 8-bit beeps and bleeps... It is also rather capable at creating buzzing leads, rhythmic sequences, and odd tasty bass tones.
  4. Carbon 2 is based on Reaktor 4’s well-known workhorse synthesiser,

but it has been completely rebuilt. In particular the oscillators and filters are now based on Reaktor Core components developed particularly for this instrument. The panel has been optimised for usability, with a clear structure providing fast access to all parameters while hiding the technical complexity.
  5. In terms of GUI (Graphical user interface) this synthesisers really

are greatly designed with usability in mind and are really fun and intuitive to play.
  6. The use of colours and boxes really help identifying the

different modules the user has to play with, making them really clear and a joy to play with.
  7. I hope this will help to introduce you to this

amazing synthesisers, they are all great and made by some of the best companies in music software nowadays. Please feel free to let me know what do you think about this presentation, and if there is anything I could do to make it better, just let some comments, I will appreciate! Cheers!! THANK YOU!
