3. Why coding? ‘Coding is the new literacy and deserves to be celebrated’ Importance of coding: ! In a world where we're surrounded by technology, and where so many of our interactions we have are with computers, learning to code helps us understand how these services work. ! What's more, learning to code gives us a powerful way to explore our ideas and make things, both for work and play. There is a projected shortfall of up to 900,000 ICT professionals in Europe by 2020

8. Most Girls drop out off IT studies after secondary education ! This can be attributed partly to lack of support from role models, persistent stereotyped views that the sector is better suited to men and a lack of understanding about what ICT means
9. DigiVita Code Event Over 60 girls between 8-18 learned how to code
