  2. Steps to be Awarded Financial Aid You should file a

    FAFSA in order to be reviewed for need-based grants and federal loans.
  3. What's on my Award Letter? • Merit Scholarships as determined

    by the Admissions Committee • You will have been notified in your acceptance letter. • Need-based Grants • Amount varies from $2,000 to $4,000 • Federal Loans • Unsubsidized Loan up to $20,500 • Master Promissory Note and Federal Entrance Counseling Required • Graduate PLUS loan • Credit-based loan • Application required, opens July 1st, 2020 • Master Promissory Note and Federal Entrance Counseling Required • Please review terms and conditions at the bottom of your award letter. • Award letters are housed on your Online Status Checker. If you filed a FAFSA and have not received a letter, please email us at [email protected].
  4. Tuition • 2020-2021 tuition: $54,750 • Three year program •

    Full-time program • Cost of Attendance • Includes tuition, living expenses, and fees • Review your award letter for a full breakdown of cost of attendance • You will be billed annually. • In the first year, students pay tuition in equal installments during the first and second semesters. Beginning with the summer semester that starts the 2L year, tuition billing is split among the three semesters in each upper-level academic year.
  5. Living Expenses • If you borrowed funds for living expenses,

    you will be eligible for a refund. • Funds disburse the first day of each term, and you will be able to apply for a refund then. • Information will be sent over the summer in regards to setting up direct deposit. EXPENSES COVERED • Child care • School-based health insurance • One time laptop purchase up to $2,000 EXPENSES NOT COVERED • Car insurance • Car payments • Security deposit • Broker Fee

  7. Loan Deferral/Forgiveness Program • NUSL contributes toward the repayment of

    your federal educational loan each year you are selected for participation in the program. • You may receive awards through the program for a maximum of 10 years, or until your Adjusted Net Income exceeds or is equal to the Income Threshold or if you fail to meet the program's other eligibility guidelines. • Current annual net income is $72,500 and is reviewed each year, • The highest award for this year is $7,375. • ELIGIBILITY - Graduates of NUSL who: • Have qualified indebtedness • Are engaged in full-time or part-time, law-related public interest or government work • Whose annual Adjusted Net Income (ANI) does not equal or exceed the Program Cap (currently set at $72,500) • For more information, visit our website.
