  1. Locations A major connection between my digipak and video was

the locations. I used an image of the stone wall for my back cover of the digipak as I felt this this would be noticeable from those who watched the video. I think connecting locations between the products is effective as audience members can associate the two, and essentially associate these with the artist- an important part of branding. My inside cover for the digipak was also an image from the location of the performance (though not involved in the video) as it fit the same natural vibe that the rest did. On the other hand, perhaps I could have included some of the narrative locations in my digipak as they were more vibrant and generally more popular with the audience, though maybe this would have derailed from the focus on my artist. Furthermore, lots of the locations for the narrative element of the video incorporate stone walls and greenery.
  2. Typography I kept my typography the same between my ancillary

tasks in order to stay consistent. One artist I analysed in my branding research was Ed Sheeran, whereby he kept this same idea of using the same font with each album/media product; this also allows the digipak and poster to be memorable to the public. Fonts used Artist name/logo: sweet sensations Other info (album name etc.): Lemon / milk
  3. Colour schemes I have pretty much stuck to the same

sorts of colours throughout my whole project such as vibrant greens and just generally colours relating to nature. This similar use of colours across all 3 products I believe gives off the same impression to the audience; the colour green is also associated with the idea of ambition and creativity which I think really represents my artist how I want it to. Though I loved the other colours explored in the video (the purples/oranges in the narrative) I don’t think this would have worked well with my artist which is why there is also a clear separation between the two. On the other hand the narrative still includes a lot of greenery and spaced out areas which would fit in with the vibe I want for my artist and his products. Overall I think these colours create a brand that feels very ‘free’.
  4. Costume Though my costume slightly changes throughout my products, I

believe they still connect well. The same sort of person/singer would wear all of the clothes my artist wears and the causality of the costume creates a comfortable relationship between my artist and his audience. The simplicity (plainness) of the clothes also works well with all of my pieces as I overall wanted this kind of video; which I then incorporated into my digipak and poster as audiences seemed to like this. I also stayed within the same colours when it came to costume for my artist too so there are still similarities.
  5. Portrayal of artist Overall, I think my products are effective

in that they portray my artist the way I intended from the beginning. A popular trait is having an artist that comes across as genuine and is doing it for himself (not for money etc.) I think my products (specifically music video) link in well with the Uses and Gratifications theory in the sense that the audience gets an escapism from their lives. The whole idea of my products creates a care-free and relaxed individual.
  6. Genre My song/artist belongs in the pop/singer-songwriter category which I

think I achieved, though my song generally filters into other genres as it is not your typical song so not all of the features will adhere to these genres. I think I’ve achieved this due to all the things mentioned in the past slides. From my research, typical elements of this genre include big locations, generally colourful and also simple with often a romance orientated narrative. One of the major conventions for this genre was the use of a guitar; so I ensured this was a big part of every product. This also shows the audience that he writes and plays his own music and is not manufactured as a lot of pop artists are perceived to be, which is why I feel he is more involved in the typical portrayal of a singer-songwriter.
