    of opinion or attitude in speech or writing 2 : a remark that explains or criticizes When commenting online, the reader reacts/responses to the writer through a post.
  2. Types of Comments Social Commenting: • Found it Facebook, Instagram,

    Twitter, and other social media sites. • Usually informal, short and personal(hey whats good? Hmu, yo, brb, etc) Academic Commenting: • Commentings that are connected to the learning or discussion within the classroom. • This can be face to face or online.
  3. Academic Commenting This is what academic commenting on a student’s

    work looks like: • This made me think about… • I wonder why… • I can relate to this… • I discovered… • I found myself wondering…
  4. Strong Feedback vs. Poor Feedback Poor feedback looks like: •

    “It’s good” • “I don’t like this part” • “Nothing needs to be changed” • “What is this?” • “Can’t you see why this looks weird?” Strong feedback looks like: • “What worked well was… • “What could make this even better… • “I noticed…” • “I wondered…”
  5. Now You’re job is to go into your research papers

    and comment on 3 of your peers papers with at least 2 comments each. That will bring your total to at least 6 comments. Remember, this is Academic Commenting, not social commenting. Use this slide to help guide your comments.
