  1. Biggest Misconceptions of the Designer Industry! Designing industry or any

industry related to art is unpredictable in the extreme. Saying that, there are some truths or lies that never change in the designing industry. Some of the biggest lies or misconceptions in the designing industry are given below! Longer Deadlines Mean Better Work: Some clients believe that giving long deadlines to their logo or web designers will lead to a better design. However this is not necessarily true. A deadline should be short enough that the designer has to make every effort to finish it on time but long enough that the required research can be done in time. Designers who are given too long deadlines become lax and procrastinate work. This can lead to a scramble near the end of the deadline and might not produce the desired results! We Cant Pay You But It’s a Huge Opportunity: Just because it’s a huge opportunity for the client doesn’t mean it is for the designer. If you can’t pay me, how is that a big opportunity for me? Some clients think that just because they have a big project, it means that the designer should make all the sacrifices; if it’s that big a project than it means that the clients should pay you even more. Designing a logo design or website design takes a lot of hard work and its not fair to ask the designer to do it for so little! Don’t Judge a Designer by His Cover: A designer’s cover is his work; the custom logo designs that he has created, the custom web site design that he has made. If a designer has created several successful designs, you can be reasonably certain that his other work will be just as well! Don’t Be Part of a Team: Previously people used to think that its best to go solo; that means you can get more profit and you can be in control of the entire design. However, nowadays most companies prefer a team of designers to manage their website, ads or logos. When you are in a team, you can brainstorm different ideas and this can lead to a better design than one which you might have created alone! The Computer is Just a Tool: A computer can do very little without a proper designer to guide it. It’s the designer who is the tool. A designer regardless of the fact that he has a computer to work on or not can even make a spectacular design as a sketch on a notebook. A designer who uses sophisticated software tools to illustrate his designs should be experienced in the nuances of logo and website design as he will determine how good or bad the design is! These are the 5 biggest misconceptions in the design industry. May new designers often dont know about these misconception because of their lack of experience. These designers must educate themselves in the way the design industry works and what practices are acceptable; following this advice can bring success to them!
