  1. What is cloud computing? DEFINITION: Cloud computing is a technology

    that uses the internet and central remote servers to maintain data and applications. Cloud computing allows consumers and businesses to use applications without installation and access their personal files at any computer with internet access. Cloud computing began as large-scale Internet service providers such as Google, Amazon, and others built out their infrastructure  A simple example of cloud computing is Yahoo email, Gmail, or Hotmail etc.  Cloud computing doesn’t require a software or a server to use them. All a consumer would need is just an internet connection and you can start sending emails. 
  2. * How Do We Save Money By Using Cloud Computing

    Services? *There are many ways a company saves money by using cloud services, but it basically breaks down into a few simple categories: 1. Capital Expenditures (CapEx) - Every few years you purchase new servers, storage, and other computer related equipment. The cost of procurement is significant. Cloud computing eliminates much of this. 2. Physical Space - You have to put your equipment somewhere. That somewhere costs per square foot. 3. Server back-ups and server maintenance.- All that equipment needed for the maintenance are not required and updates in cloud happens automatically. 4. Electricity - All that equipment needs to be powered. 5. People - People with specialized skills are needed for managing and keeping managing in premise solutions.
  3.  There are a number of security issues/concerns associated with

    cloud computing but these issues fall into two broad categories:  Security issues faced by cloud providers (organizations providing Software-, Platform-, or Infrastructure-as-a-Service via the cloud).  Security issues faced by their customers.  The provider must ensure that their infrastructure is secure and that their clients’ data and applications are protected while the customer must ensure that the provider has taken the proper security measures to protect their information But is cloud computing secure?

    Move To Cloud Services?  Clouds are also comparatively easy to manage and bring down the costs.  Security in cloud computing is much better than a scattered network.  Cloud computing ensures that everyone uses the same computing standards with less down-time.  Accessibility from anywhere via multiple devices.  Brings down overall hardware and software costs.

    a significant workload shift. Local computers no longer have to do all the heavy lifting when it comes to running applications. The only thing the user's computer needs to be able to run is the cloud computing system's interface software, which can be as simple as a Web browser, and the cloud's network takes care of the rest.

  7. Comparing Public, Private, and Hybrid Cloud Computing Options Cloud computing

    comes in three forms:  Public clouds.  Private clouds.  Hybrids clouds. Depending on the type of data clouds there are different levels of security and management required.
  8. Public Clouds A public cloud is one in which the

    services and infrastructure are provided off-site over the Internet. These clouds offer the greatest level of efficiency in shared resources; however, they are also more vulnerable than private clouds.     services and infrastructure are maintained on a private network. These clouds offer the greatest level of security and control, but they require the company to still purchase and maintain all the software and infrastructure, which reduces the cost savings. A private cloud is the obvious choice when • The business is the data and your applications. Therefore, control and security are paramount. • The business is part of an industry that must conform to strict security and data privacy issues.
  10. HYBRID CLOUDS A hybrid cloud includes a variety of public

    and private options with multiple providers. By spreading things out over a hybrid cloud, you keep each aspect at your business in the most efficient environment possible.  Company wants to use a SaaS application but is concerned about security. The SaaS vendor can create a private cloud just for your company inside their firewall. They provide you with a virtual private network (VPN) for additional security.  Company can use a public cloud to interact with the clients but keep their data secured within a private cloud.

    of all sizes as a way to obtain secure access .  Midsize companies, those with 100–999 employees, can benefit from cloud-based capabilities.  The variety of applications and approaches to cloud solutions and the different resources companies will make a difference in how these companies implement cloud computing into their business.
