we should contruct a exhibition space for the collection of F. Konrad. e building site is located near the Humburger Bahnhof and the building only needed to display 4 artworks and statue. We dicided to place the exhibition space below the ground and to use a generous cut in the celling to optimize the natural lighting condition. We wanted to achieve a pillar free construction for the celling and the rst oor and therefor chose a thick concret steel construction. 6 7
H e architectural type of a mansion, idealy occupied by one family seems to be hard to implant in a urban loction and context. Considering growth of density and land cost one might need a new concept. is project has tried to nd a solution for the quetion displayed above. e H House is occupied by a divorced couple with there two children. e parents each have a new life patner. In order not to let their children su er due to their divorced, the parents agreed to build two mansions on the same site. e two mansions should o er connecting sections for their children, how should easily switch between them and meeting sections for family gatherings. But of course o er a clear seperation for the two couples. Both Parents requested selling and working space which should be on site but completly seperated from the mansions. On a 12,5 x 16 m site, four buldings interwine and are accessed throw two douple helix systems.Rotating doors centered on each oor of the Staircase o ers intersection spaces and new room ow possibities. renewablity has become one of the primary topics in modern architectural and urban discussions. To draw attention to this, the task of this project was to develop a concept for an almost nished build retirement housing and using architectural methods to implant a new concept based on the existing structure. After analysing the given structure i decided to brake up the U- shape and fokus on the given linear grid structure in nord west direction. In the second step the back was erased and replaced by a generous infrastructure. Between to cores skystreets o er each of the 30 Loftunits a private path and terrace. engeneering we should develop a construction design based on elastic gridshells. e site was chosen on ower University campus. We decided to construct a sea shell like design. e ve curves are placed above the openings in the consisting wall. e curves also bents towards the ground to optimize the drainage. In collaboration with the Studio of civil engeneering we had the opportunity to use a rhino plug-in program to optimize our gridshell structure. 15
is outlined by its consideration of natural lighting. e task was to imagine a 25 m high wall around the building site. So the only way to use natural light was from above. After a prozess of research of lightstudies, i decided to place 5 tower structures that interwine on the 4. oor and form a aoting bridge. Each of the Tower is build up of a stacking systems of housing units. On the ground level the 5 towers interwine into a public Hammam. e Hammam is based on two linear achses that lose their axial linearity throw eyesight high slitts in the surrounding walls. conceptual designs spread over the semester and concern di erent aspects of exhibition spaces. is is a design done in two weeks time fokusing on a choreographic sequence. Sited in Italy and placed into a hill surrounded by nature and a village below towards the river. It plays with views and perception. One wanderes around and visits the pavillions.
