Remove the Roadblox with Roblox Game Making 101

Roblox is the super cool multi-player game. It’s like Minecraft and building Legos combined into one. You can create an account and play games other people have created, or you can build your own game using Roblox Studio.

When you build a game in Roblox Studio you get to use your imagination to create any kind of virtual environment and game. Once you publish your game you can then have all your friends join your game and play together.

I’m going to show you how to play Roblox, how to use Roblox Studio and walk you through steps to create your own game!

3. Roblox is a site where there are an infinite amount of games made by people of all ages all over the world. Roblox Studio is a site where you can make a game public which allows everyone to play. What is Roblox & Roblox Studio
4. Let's get connected! 1. Connect to the That Conference Wifi 2. Go to www.roblox.com 3. Create Roblox account, or log in if you already have an account 4. Click any game to download Roblox
5. Roblox! Let’s take a look at a Roblox game together to get familiar
6. Here is what we are going to build today!!
7. Let's start building! Once you download Roblox, Roblox Studio is included with it. Let’s open it and log in with your Roblox account.

11. Time to explore! Let me guide you through all the fun tools we are going to learn and use today.
12. Let’s add trees 1. Go to toolbox 2. Select tree 3. Place a few trees on your terrain
13. 1. Go to the toolbox search bar 2. Search for “hotel” 3. Pick a hotel and drag it on to your terrain 4. Add a second hotel 5. Add lights in side Let’s add hotels
14. Let's add a park 1. In the toolbox type in “playground” 2. Drag it out 3. Place it in the middle of the hotels
15. Let's add a pool 1. In toolbox you need to type in “pool” 2. Drag it out 3. Add inner tubes into the pool
16. Let's add a water slide 1. Go to toolbox and type in “water slide” 2. Drag a couple out 3. Place 3 water slides on your terrain
17. Let’s stop to play While in Roblox Studio you can play your game, go explore and check it out.
18. How to add words into the game Type in “words” you should see one that says “abc’s for” drag that on to your terrain.
19. From the “abc’s for” drag the letters to a different area on your terrain to spell “That Conference” For duplicate letters (like the “e” and “n”), click on the letter and hit the “Duplicate” button Spell “That Conference”
20. Hold down the “shift” button and click each letter in “That Conference” Right-click and select “Group” to combine the letters into 1 object. Let’s group the letters
21. Now we need a restaurant! 1. Go to the toolbox search bar 2. Search for “restaurant” 3. Drag “the grill” restaurant on to your terrain
22. Create your own object! Let’s build a table! 1. Click the arrow in the “Part” button in the top menu 2. Select “Cylinder” 3. Drag it off the map and rotate it until it is standing up 4. Duplicate 3 times so that you have 4 table legs
23. Build your table top 1. Click the arrow in the “Part” button in the 2. Select “Block” 3. Duplicate that block 8 times 4. Arrange the blocks to be 3 x 3 on top of the table legs 5. Group all of your table objects to finish your table
24. Now it’s your turn! What else does your water park need? Go ahead and keep adding to customize your water park.
25. Make a quest 1. Let’s make a cave to start our quest. 2. Click the “Editor” button 3. Click “Grow” 4. Hold down your mouse button to grow a hill with a cave in it 5. Search for “light” in toolbox. 6. Drag the light into the cave.
26. Add a monster we need to beat 1. Search for “monster” in toolbox 2. Some monsters don’t work, you can pick “Amnesia” (who works) and drag into your cave 3. To keep the monster from escaping add a gate. Search for “gate” in the toolbox.
27. Close up the gate! The gate might not cover all of the cave opening. Use treasure chests to block the openings… cause treasure is awesome! 1. Search “treasure” in the toolbox 2. Drag a treasure chest to the side of the gate. 3. Duplicate until fully blocked in.
28. Add a way to defeat monster 1. Search “sword” in the toolbox 2. Place a sword by the gate. When ready you can play in your water park and complete the monster quest.
29. How to publish your game Publishing your game makes it available to other people to play. 1. Go to the “File” menu 2. Click “Publish to Roblox” 3. Fill out all items in the publish form 4. Press “Create Place” when complete
30. Robux is game cash. You can’t earn it by playing you have to spend real money to get it. You use it to buy costumes, objects and games. What are Robux?
31. Can you make money with Roblox? Maybe. If you build a game with objects that require Robux you could earn real money. But it’s really hard cause there are a lot of games.
