18. Tony Hoare(1934~) I call it my billion-dollar mistake. It was the invention of the null reference in 1965. At that time, I was designing the first comprehensive type system for references in an object oriented language (ALGOL W). My goal was to ensure that all use of references should be absolutely safe, with checking performed automatically by the compiler. But I couldn't resist the temptation to put in a null reference, simply because it was so easy to implement. This has led to innumerable errors, vulnerabilities, and system crashes, which have probably caused a billion dollars of pain and damage in the last forty years. 나의 10억 달러(약 1조 천2백58억원) 짜리 실수다!

21. 그 동안 짠 Elm 코드가 20만줄인데 2년 만에 처음 런타임 에러가 났다. 그동안 레거시 자바스크립트 코드는 대충 6만번 정도 터짐. (Debug.crash라는 코드였고 말 그대로 crash를 일으키는 코드였음(땀))
