Considered as the finest spot to watch Himalayan Sunrise as the mountains turn from gray to a sudden red and finally a brilliant white.   2. Brief Itinerary for Ghandruk Circuit Poon Hill Trek • Day

    1 – ARRIVAL IN KATHMANDU • Day 2 – TRAVEL TO POKHARA • Day 3 – TRAVEL TO NAYAPUL, TREK TO TIKHEDHUNGA • Day 4 – TREK TO GHOREPANI • Day 5 – POON HILL, THEN TREK TO TADAPANI • Day 6 – TREK TO GHANDRUK • Day 7 – TREK TO NAYAPUL, DRIVE TO POKHARA • Day 8 – RETURN TO KATHMANDU • Day 9 – DEPARTURE
  3. *Day 1 – ARRIVAL IN KATHMANDU (elev. 1350 m/4,429 ft.)

    As soon you touch down at Tribhuvan International Airport, your adventure journey begins. Finishing passport control and grabbing luggage you will spot a sign with your name on it. The man carrying the sign will be you guide from Asia Buddhist Tours and Treks. He will lead you to a deluxe hotel to stay for the night and will give a brief introduction about our journey.
  4. *Day 2 – TRAVEL TO POKHARA (elev. 827 m/2,713 ft.)

    Rise refreshed in the heart of the Himalayas from a good night’s sleep. There is something about the mountain air that allows one to sleep so soundly. After breakfast, it’s time to travel to the lakeside city of Pokhara. It takes around six to seven hours to reach the fabulous lakeside city. Check into your hotel and enjoy a wonderful dinner as well as a walk along the lake, watching the reflection of the Annapurna’s in its mirror-like waters.
  5. *Day 3 – TRAVEL TO NAYAPUL, TREK TO TIKHEDHUNGA (elev.

    1540 m/5,052 ft.) First day of trekking which will start from Nayapul, where we will drive by a private car from our hotel. We will pass through different valleys, waterfalls and subtropical forest. After 3-4 hours of trek, we will reach the village of Tikhedhunga, where we lodge for the night.
  6. *Day 4 – TREK TO GHOREPANI (elev. 2750 m/9,022 ft.)

    We rise as the rise of the sun and a delicious breakfast. Then we start our trek towards Ghorepani from Thikhedhunga. Along the trails we we pass through different villages habituated by Magar, Gurung, Tamang tribes. The forest gets thinner as we gain in elevation. There are plenty of good lodge to spend the night.
  7. *Day 5 – POON HILL, THEN TREK TO TADAPANI (elev.

    3210 m/10,531 ft.) We rise early in the morning when its still dark to make our way the top of Poon Hill. We make our way to the view-point to watch a magnificiant sunrise over the Himalayas. After sunrise, we will have our breakfast and we head towards Tadapani. Passing exciting forests and rivers, we will a spectacular view of Himalayas.
  8. *Day 6 – TREK TO GHANDRUK (elev. 1940 m/6,365 ft.)

    The journey takes us to the village of Ghandruk which belongs to Gurung people. It was this indigenous ethnic group that made up the Ghurkha units of the British Army famous. Walking through deep forests of oaks and rhododendron, we will visit many ancient monasteries and a local museum.
  9. *Day 7 – TREK TO NAYAPUL, DRIVE TO POKHARA (elev.

    827 m/2,713 ft.) It is the final day of our Trekking as we make our way to Nayapul to get picked up our private car. We drive till we reach Pokhara and spending our rest of the day by exploring Pokhara valley. In other words, to relax near lakeside and stay in a good hotel.
  10. *Day 8 – RETURN TO KATHMANDU We will leave Pokhara

    as we return to Kathmandu. You can choose whether you travel by air or by bus. In the evening, enoy our farewell dinner.
  11. *Day 9 – DEPARTURE That day has arrived as its

    time to depart for your next destination. Your friends from Asia Buddhist Tours & Treks have arrived with a private car to take you to the airport. Before leaving, be sure to discuss a return trip to the Himalayas as there is so much more to see.
