She has been teaching in Finland for the past 6 years and came upon some of our music and one of her favourite songs is the "Ocean Song" that has given her students the opportunity to improvise. With her students and colleagues they made a recording with an adaptation for the words. The lyrics are in Romanian, - The sea wave is heard, how it's whispering a world (metaphor). The sea wave is seen, how it's dancing and dreaming. The concept is that both Romania and Finland have an opening to the sea.
3. They have used piano, 2 voices, ocean drum, seashell chimes, sansula kalimba and glockenspiel. I have to say, it felt so special to hear this - I love the choice of instruments that are used, the vocals, the sound of the Finnish words and especially the improvised vocals over the Dorian tonality are so beautiful.
