2. WORD OF THE DAY Circumlocution (ser-kum-loh-KYOO-shun) 1: The use of an unnecessary large number of words to express an idea. 2: Evasion in speech. Example: At Dialogue Party Toastmasters, we avoid circumlocution by learning to be concise in our speeches, evaluations, and Table Topics responses.
