BCS Deaf Church Sermon from July 26th, 2015 concluding the series on the Sermon on the Mount from Matthew 7:24-29. This sermon looks at how we can build our life on the eternal things of God.

Matthew 7:24-29 24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” 28 When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, 29 because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law.
7. House Built on a Rock Q: What does this mean? Q: Do these verses promise that we will never experience difficulty or trials? Q: What does it promise? Q: What happens to all foolish men who do not build their houses on a rock? Do you believe that?
8. How do you build your house on the rock according to v 26? "Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Q: How are you listening to God’s word right now? Q: What can you do to increase your listening? Q: How are you following Jesus’ teachings right now? Q: How can you “do” his teachings more in your life?
