7. Parables…  What is the best story you have ever heard? Movie? Book?  Why do we love stories so much?
8. Parables  Why do you think that Jesus taught in parables?  Why wasn’t Jesus more direct?  What is a “parable”?
9. Why Parables?  -Good teaching technique  -Engages the listener – forces them to become part of the story.  Really all of the Bible is a story of God and our history – parables remind us of that.  -Takes faith and effort to understand.  -Can teach so much more than just one fact.

11. Why Parables?  What did Jesus tell the disciples when asked why he teaches in parables?  Why is it a secret?  Who gets the secret?  Who does not get the secret?  Does Jesus want to be mysterious and for people not to understand?
13. PARABLE OF SOWER  Who is the sower / farmer?  -God  What is the seed?  -Word of God  What is the soil?  -Our hearts and minds

What is being produced in you?  Are you allowing Satan to steal the Word of God from you by not reading it… not trying to understand it….not wanting it?  Are you only playing the “Church game” where you come to church or Bible Studies, but don’t really expect change in your life?  Are the struggles and worries of the world choking out the Word?  Is the Word producing fruit in your life?
