Applications of Modern GPS

We use the GPS system everyday in our work at Spatial Networks. This talk was done at USF for a course on GPS to explain the benefits and implementation of modern GPS tech.

15. Advantages • Can build custom apps around GPS • Cellular + Wi-Fi accuracy augmentation • Mapping toolkits in mobile OSes • Speed
16. Disadvantages • Heavy power consumption • Accuracy not high enough (sometimes) • Expensive (potentially)
18. Gains in efficiency + workflow outweigh the potential drawbacks.
