What is the Enigma cryptonetwork?

1. What is Enigma? A cryptonetwork that processes blockchain data in a private way
2. Why Does Enigma Matter? Running private computations on blockchain data sucks. This is because blockchains are public by default and each computation runs on every computer in the network. So we still depend on centralized services which is a big problem.
3. How Enigma Works • Consumer asks Enigma to process its data • Enigma splits the data up across many Private Computers in the network • the Private Computers never see the whole data. This means that the data stay private throughout. • the data is only distributed to some Private Computers, not all of them. This means that the data processing is much faster than on a normal blockchain.
4. Enigma’s Token Model • Consumers pay for private computation and any storage that's required in ENG tokens • Private Computers and Storage Providers get fees for providing private computation and storage services to Consumers • They need to place a Security Deposit before providing these services. This is required to ensure they behave honestly in the long term
