Simulating users: some (cheap) tricks

Users come in every shape and size. We cannot assume that they know everything we know and can do everything as we do.

They may have some physical limitation, be inexperienced, follow different cultural conventions. We also can't predict where and in which context our products will be used.

This talk shares some tips and tricks on how to simulate several kind users by forcing limitations using cheap or commonly available items and software.

By using those tips and tricks, you will be able to better feel the experiences that different kind of users have with your products, catch usability and interaction issues before resorting to more formal usability testing methodologies.
