"[a] team is a group of people who are
    interdependent with respect to information,
resources, knowledge and skills and who seek
to combine their efforts to achieve a
    common goal"

“As with any team there will be
    moments of disagreement and
    debate and these should remain
    professional and appropriate. It’s is
never about being right or wrong,
but about bringing a perspective to
    a situation to help inform
    discussions & decisions, so it’s
    important that everyone’s voice is
    heard. Listening is often more
important than speaking – after all
we have two ears and only one
    mouth!”

    TEAM CHARTER
The team charter was a direct
    output from a team development
activity we undertook in 2021. It
sets out some key principles that
we should all seek to uphold in
everything that we do and acts as a
reference point for the way we
    work with each other

    IN SUMMARY
    • Teamwork needs supporting – higher
    education is predicated on individual
excellence and we need to develop
    collegiality.
    • Working with others is often the most
    rewarding work.
    • If you spend more time thinking about
your own needs and criticising others
then you may not be a natural team player.
    • Start by knowing yourself (warts and all).
    • If you find people difficult to work with
look inward first before blaming others.
    • The handbook now acts as a point of
    reference for the whole team.
    – It is a great resource to use to induct new
    team members.
    – It was written by the team, for the team
and the values were a collective
    contribution of individual submissions.
    • Teamwork is about valuing individual
excellence in the context of collective
    achievement.
    • Being an effective team member requires
    continuous development.
