“Add a Course”. In order to properly score the tournaments and print the scorecards, you will need to add the scorecard information. If you are not using the Setup Wizard, go to the Event Menu/Maintain Course Details. If you are using the front 9 and back 9 for matches, create two 9-hole courses. Monday, March 24, 14
Manage Event Divisions/Flights/Teams. Click “edit team lists”, then “add new team list”. Enter a team size of 2 and select that you’d like to create teams using a custom field. Select the team custom field you have created from your original spreadsheet. Click “Next” and your teams will be created. Monday, March 24, 14
then Manage Event Divisions/Flights/Teams. Click “edit team lists”, then “edit flights by team”. Add your first flight and name it. Add the teams to the flight (notice you can sort teams by total team index) and save. Repeat steps for the remaining flights. Monday, March 24, 14
then Create/Edit Multi-Round Tournaments. Add a GEG Scored Tournament. Select the team list you created and set the rest of the parameters for the tournament. You will want the format to be “Match”, the competition to be “Team v. Team (1&2 v 3&4)”, and Balls to be “Best Ball”. Monday, March 24, 14
Menu then “Create/Edit Round Robin Schedule” and add a new round robin schedule. Select the team list you’ve created and also indicate that you would like to use flights to create the schedule. Click “Next” and the matchups/pairings for all 5 rounds will be set up. Monday, March 24, 14
then “Edit Existing Pairings”. Click “Set Course/Tee” to set the tees. You may have matches playing the front 9 and some playing the back 9. If so, select the matches playing the front 9, select that they are playing the front 9 course, and click Go. Repeat that step for the back 9 players. You can also set the tee times/shotgun start when you are finished setting the tees. Make sure to click “Save” before leaving the page. Repeat these steps for the remaining 4 rounds. After making initial edits on this step of the wizard, you can always go back to the portal later to make more changes. To do that, Go to the Event Menu, then Go To (yourevent.golfleaguegenius.com). You will also be asked to upload a banner and logo of your event (you can also add this add a later time by going to the Event Menu then “Event Logo and Banner”. These logos and banners can be displayed on the portal, TV leaderboard, scorecards, tee sheets, and other reports. Monday, March 24, 14
Menu then “Create/Edit Round Robin Schedule”. Click “View Round Robin Schedule” and print the schedule. You can post the schedule in the golf shop and/or save it as a PDF and email it to your players. You can also add the Round Robin Schedule on your Event Portal for your players to view. to the Rounds Menu, then Download/Print Center to print these reports. Note that each foursome will have a unique GGID printed on their scorecard to use to log into the mobile app. Remember to print these reports for the remaining 4 rounds as well. Monday, March 24, 14
then “Display Leaderboard”. Click on “Re-score, Print, Adjust Leaderboard”. Select “TV Display” and adjust the display settings if necessary. Set up as many large displays as needed, by just connecting a laptop to each display.. Monday, March 24, 14
App If real-time scoring is desired, have one player in each foursome enter the scores on the mobile app. When they open up the app, they can enter their email/password (if they are registered to the event portal) or enter their foursome GGID. If mobile scoring is not used, the event manager can enter the scores via Rounds Menu/Enter Scores. If real-time scoring is not utilized, players can hand in scorecards at the conclusion of play to the event organizer for input. Monday, March 24, 14
