  2. 2 In the Tenjin Meiji-dori Avenue district, about half of

the buildings are over 40 years old and within the next 20 years they are expected to reach the point of having to be reconstructed. Therefore, the Tenjin Meiji-dori Ave. Development Council, called MDC, aiming to create a business district that will be globally admired, worked out a vision called “Grand Design” in May 2009 to portray the future image of the district. And now, we have put together a manual and a district plan to realize the future image. Please use these guidelines from now on, as reference when planning for district improvement or individual projects. In this council we would like to continue promoting city planning in cooperation with property owners, so to enhance the value of the whole district.
