(intro (to (clojurescript)))

A talk I did at a Javascript Iceland User Group meetup. I'm really interested in Clojure (and thus ClojureScript) but am not exposed to it all that much. I don't do a whole lot of talks but am trying to change that and learned a lot doing this one.

Also it's super short.

2. Who am I? • Kristján Oddsson but people have started calling me by my online handle: “koddsson” which I quite like. • I’m not really a JS guy but Eiki asked me to talk about something. • Begged really.
3. What is Clojure? • It’s pronounced “closure”. • It’s awesome. • It’s a functional programming language. • It’s LISP-like (ie. it has a bunch of parenthesis) • It runs on the JVM, CLR and JavaScript!
4. What is ClojureScript? • It’s basically a transpiler for Clojure that targets JavaScript. • You can run the same code on the server and in the client!!
