    there is no known ‘textbook answer’ • The teacher doesn't know the answer (oh dear…) • An adviser and true role model for the researchers Provides motivation for learning. • Is never bored! Never! New year à new projectsà new challenges • Expands his/her knowledge and develops his/her teaching
  6. Challenges • Guides may be experts in their fields but

    often lack the didactic skills required to educate and guide. The result is frustration on both sides • The adviser may be faced with a problem he does not know how to cope with. • Current pool of physics teachers is too small. • Every project needs intimate guidance.
  7. Support and Tools • The idea is to have several

    schools in a geographical region join forces. • A forum for both project guides and students to discuss ideas, problems and bugs. Meets on a weekly basis. • Mutual support can be offered and enthusiasm and facilities shared. • Advice for solving problems is freely sought and given in a friendly and supportive atmosphere • Training program for project advisors and leaders

    people to enter the education system • Professionals gain experience in guiding students through projects • Provides additional support for opening new regional centers
