    to design, simulate, and assemble an electronic system Basic concepts System and power supply noise, EMC/EMI, transmission lines Sensor types for quantifying position, tension, acceleration, temperature, pressure, and flow Clean room Went through the process of fabricating and characterizing a thermic sensor Microsystem Technology Applications Learned the use of microsystems in various applications
  5. Robocol- Mars Rover project This is a student initiative which

    purpose is to form its members in robotics and to compete in national and international events. I was part of the sensor group • Helped choosing the components for the circuit • Helped with the design and placement of the circuit components (in Eagle) • I was in charge of sending the Gerber files for manufaturing I was part of this initiative the last six months of my bachelors degree
  6. End of Bachelors project • Design and manufacture of a

    miniaturized Potentiostat, a measuring device that studies the relationship between electric and chemical phenomenons. • Background research on the Cyclic voltammetry, the electrochemical cell of three electrodes, and the applications of potentiostats • Surface and through hole component selection, angles, proximity, and minimum width of the transmision lines, costs, etc…
  7. What do you see as the major trends in Smart

    System Integration? • Many sectors: transportation, energy, healthcare, environement, human-machine interfaces etc.. • New integration technologies, new materials, new packaging technologies • Green Micro- and nanotechnology • Standarisation of processes, interfaces and tools. • Integration of cognitive functions (NanoBioInfoCogno) • ‘ambient assisted living’ • Smart Systems capable of mobile and autonomous diagnosis (machine learning)
  8. Which parts of the SSIs program are you specifically interested

    in? • Design Project that runs over three semesters in a multicultural environment • Specially interested in the second semester of the masters (currently gravitating towards biomedical sensors) • Master thesis with a collaborating partner • Opportunity to take internships from semester 2
  9. What are your research interests? /In which area would you

    like to do research? Leaning towards sustainability overall • Interested in the design and manufacture of Smart sensors • Wearable biosensors for healthcare (microneedles, contact lenses, and injectable devices) to monitor biological signals
  10. What are your plans after being graduated in the SSIs

    programme? I have two main plans: • Start a PhD in sensor technology in Europe • Get a job at one of the programme countries in one of the industrial partners of the masters
