PART 1
31 “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will
we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?” MATTHEW 6:31 NLT
32 “These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your
heavenly Father already knows all your needs” MATTHEW 6:32 NLT
33 “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and
live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.” MATTHEW 6:33 NLT
34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring
its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” MATTHEW 6:34 NLT
WORRY… Devil’s greatest weapons
Worry is one of the Devil’s greatest weapons, it will
steal your joy, steal contentment, steal your happiness.
And we become so wrapped up in worry about tomorrow,
worry about yesterday, that we never find peace today.
What is ridiculous is that so often we worry about
things that never happen.
40% of the time we worry about the things that
will never happen
30% concern on things that can’t be changed
12% centers on criticism, mostly untrue, made by people who
feel inferior
10% relates to health which worsens when you worry
And only 8% are legitimate concerns which you can do
something about
Worry is like putting your car in neutral and revving
the engine.
Worry is like putting your car in neutral and revving
the engine.
It burns oil and gas and is hard on the
engine and it really doesn’t get anywhere.
Worry is like that, and it’s very serious and very
common.

When we TRUST GOD we DO NOT WORRY
And when worry we don’t trust God.
Worry says, “ I’ve got problem and I don’t think
God can take care of me through it”
“ I’ve got problem and I don’t think God can
take care of me through it” -Worry
7 “Give all your worries and cares to God, for
He cares about you.” 1 PETER 5:7 NLT
Carrying your worries, stress, and daily struggles by yourself
Shows that YOU have not trusted God fully with your
life
It takes humility, however, to recognize that God cares, to
admit your need, and to let others in God’s family help you.
Sometimes we think that struggles cause by our own sin
and foolishness are not God’s concern.
But when we turn to God for repentance, He will
bear the weight even those struggles.
LETTING GOD have your anxieties calls for action, not passivity
Don’t submit to circumstances but to the Lord, who is
able to control circumstances.
DON’T SUBMIT to circumstances BUT TO THE LORD
25 “That is why I tell you not to worry
about everyday life— whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear.” MATTHEW 6:25 NLT
25 “Isn’t life more than food, and your body more
than clothing?” MATTHEW 6:25 NLT
Because of all the effects of worry, Jesus tells us
not to worry about those needs that God promises to supply.
Worry may damage your health, disrupt your productivity, reduce your
ability to trust God.
How many Ill effects you are experiencing?
Here’s the difference between worry and genuine concern- worry immobilizes,
but concern moves you to action.
WORRY CONCERN IMMOBILIZES MOVES YOU TO ACTION

Worry will sour our mood and eventually stifle our relationship
with God and others.
Giving up the debilitating influence of worry is one big
step toward a life well-lived.
19 “Even when bad things happen to the good and
godly ones, the Lord will save them and not let them be defeated by what they face.” PSALMS 34:19 TPT
We often wish we could escape worries and troubles, sorrow
and failure, even the small daily frustrations that constantly wear us down.
God promises to be close to the broken-hearted
To be source of power, courage and wisdom, helping us
through our problems.
When worries and trouble strikes, don’t get frustrated with God.
When worries and trouble strikes, don’t get frustrated with God.
Instead, admit that you need God’s help and thank Him
for being by your side.
1 “God, you’re such a safe and powerful place to
find refuge! You’re a proven help in time of trouble— PSALMS 46:1 TPT
1 “more than enough and always available whenever I need
you.” PSALMS 46:1 TPT
The psalmist says that even if the world were to
end, we should not fear.
In the face of utter destruction, the writer expressed a
quiet confidence in God’s ability to save him.
It seems impossible to consider the end of the world
without becoming consumed by fear.
But the Bible is clear. God is our refuge even
in the midst of total destruction.
But the Bible is clear. God is our refuge even
in the midst of total destruction.
HE IS NOT merely a temporary retreat,
He is our ETERNAL REFUGE and can provide STRENGTH in
any circumstances.
WORRYING is feeling uneasy or being OVERLY CONCERNED about a
situation or problem

With excessive worrying, your mind and body go into overdrive
as you constantly focus on "what might happen."
If it sticks around long enough, something as small as
a nagging concern in the back of your mind can affect your heart.
None
It can make you more likely to have high blood
pressure, a heart attack, or a stroke.
Higher levels of anxiety can trigger those stress hormones that
make your heart beat faster and harder.

Studies are linking more and more modern diseases to epidemic
of deadly emotions in our culture, mental stress has replaced bacteria.
A great percentage of illness in some way related to
worry and anxiety, the number one killer in America is heart disease.

we get so worried about things that consume us and
we miss opportunities that God has placed before us to impact people with our faith,
or we impact them negatively because our worries exhibit a
lack of faith.
11 “So we keep on praying for you, asking our
God to enable you to live a life worthy of His call.” 2 THESSALONIANS 1:11 NLT
11 “May He give you the power to accomplish all
the good things your faith prompts you to do.” 2 THESSALONIANS 1:11 NLT
As believers, our calling from God is to BECOME LIKE
Christ
This is a gradual, lifelong process that will be completed
when we see Christ face to face, for the mean time our walk of faith should be a witness to all the people around us.
8 “For once you were full of darkness, but now
you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!” EPHESIANS 5:8 NLT
9 “For this light within you produces only what is
good and right and true.” EPHESIANS 5:9 NLT
As people who have light from the Lord, OUR ACTIONS
should reflect our faith
We should live above reproach morally so that we reflect
God’s goodness to others.
14 “Do everything without complaining and arguing,” PHILIPPIANS 2:14 NLT
15 “So that no one can criticize you. Live clean,
innocent lives as children of God, ..” PHILIPPIANS 2:15 NLT
15 “Shining like bright lights in a world full of
crooked and perverse people.” PHILIPPIANS 2:15 NLT
Our lives should be characterized by moral purity, patience, and
peacefulness, so that we shine brightly in a dark and deprived world.
A TRANSFORMED LIFE is an effective witness to the power
of God’s Word

Jesus offers a simple test
Can WORRY add a single hour to your life?
None
No. In fact, worry will most likely subtract hours from
it instead.
WORRY has no productive value
Worry is an indicator of our level of faith and
trust in God.
Worry is an indicator of our level of faith and
trust in God.
“I'm not sure God will do anything about my situation”
-Worry
Whenever we choose to worry about something, we are in
effect saying, "I'm not sure God will do anything about my situation."
Once we identify worry as a lack of trust, then
we can turn it over to God.
TRUST FOR FAITH is the essential ingredient in an authentic
relationship with Jesus
Putting our future in His hands — all of our
future — is the mark of a TRUE DISCIPLE
