6. A spiritual mentor is someone who cares about you and wants the best for you.
7. They know that the most important thing in life is to have a personal relationship with Christ,
8. So they encourage you to invest in this relationship.

10. As a result, you can grow spiritually and become mature in your faith.
11. Mentoring is a relational experience in which one person opens and shares their life with others, enabling another to maximize the grace of God in his/her life and service.
12. A mentoring relationship provides a role model to follow.
13. Seeing a GODLY LIFE LIVED OUT is an invaluable benefit.
14. It promotes spiritual growth because mentors help others deepen their personal relationship with God, help them to grow in the image of Christ, and prepare them to become most usable for the kingdom.
15. It provides accountability as we give people permission to inquire about our lives and applying our faith.

34. We all have a choice of path, negative or positive.
35. It’s easy to give in to the negative, but spiritual mentors understand the power of peace, love, kindness, joy and patience.
36. They are able to instill this thinking in others and create a positive atmosphere around themselves, even in the face of adversity.

48. A spiritual mentor leads by EXAMPLE
49. They realize it is not necessarily the words they say, but it is their actions that speak the loudest.
50. They seek to honor God in the choices they make on a daily basis, and this provides guidance for those they mentor and encourages them to do the same.
52. Spiritual mentors often take the road less traveled and don’t always conform to societal norms.
53. Forcing their beliefs on others and directing people to follow their lead is not how they operate.
54. Instead they share their experiences and knowledge as a way of guiding others to the spiritual clarity they have obtained – inspire, don’t instruct.

60. Spiritual mentors are not necessarily religious leaders, nor are they managers that orchestrate the building of an organization.
61. But, they definitely do lead. It’s a different type of leadership that requires a separate set of characteristics.
62. And, understanding these qualities can help you identify the mentors around you that can move your spiritual health to a higher level.

71. Unfortunately, it can be easy to fall into sin and lose sight of your relationship with Christ.
73. A spiritual mentor can be someone who is honest with you and tells you when you need to turn your focus back to God.
74. As a result, they can keep you from continuing in a life of sin and encourage you to live in a way that is honorable to God.
75. A spiritual mentor can offer wise counsel when it comes to some of life’s toughest decisions.
76. As someone who has walked the road before you, a mentor can guide you in the right direction and steer you away from mistakes they previously made.
77. They can prepare you for what is to come and offer advice from a Christian perspective.
78. If we do not acknowledge that we make mistakes and sometimes need to change our ways, this can have negative consequences.

81. In addition, if we do not obey the authority figures in our life, such as our parents, it can be hard to obey God.
82. In fact, God places authority figures in our lives to guide us and mentor us.

84. If we surround ourselves with individuals who are walking with Christ, then we can know they have good intentions when they speak into our lives.

86. There are mentors who have the job of forming flocks and leading flocks in a flight pattern. That's good. But then there are mentors who have the job of training eagles how to soar alone. I am the eagle mentor.
