  1. PHILIPPIANS 2:6 NCV 6 “Christ Himself was like God in

everything. But He did not think that being equal..”
  2. PHILIPPIANS 2:7 NCV 7 “But He gave up His place

with God and made Himself nothing.”
  3. PHILIPPIANS 2:7 NCV 7 “He was born as a man

    and became like a servant.”
  4. is a deep down humility that is willing to pick

up the servant’s towel regardless of one’s status or station in life.
  5. No matter what one’s station or condition in life, whether

king or peasant, slave or free, rich or poor, strong or weak, brilliant or slow of mind, nobleman or common, etc.
  6. In Christ, God calls all Christians to live as servants

serving others with the Lord Jesus as the perfect example of One who, though God of very God, took upon Himself “the form of a servant.”
  7. When Jesus Christ came into the world, it was not

to come into a wealthy man’s home where all material things might be His.
  8. When Jesus Christ came into the world, it was not

to come into a wealthy man’s home where all material things might be His.
  9. The home was characterized by poverty, He did not come

into a royal home so that He might be respected as heir apparent even though He has the right to rule this earth.
  10. He was not born in Caesar’s home so that in

due course He might follow His father to the throne.
  11. His station in life was that of a servant, a

    servant is characterized not so much as a person to be despised, but as someone without rights;
  12. What Paul emphasizes is that, when Jesus Christ came into

the world, He came as One who had no rights of His own.
  13. The One who had all the rights that belonged to

    the eternal Son of God gave up the exercise of these rights;
  14. He came into the world as a servant who has

no rights but is subject to the authority of another.
  15. PHILIPPIANS 2:3 NCV 3 “When you do things, do not

let selfishness or pride be your guide.”
  16. PHILIPPIANS 2:3 NCV 3 “Instead, be humble and give more

honor to others than to yourselves.”
  17. One of the first marks of servant hood is to

be able to put others ahead of YOURSELF and you personal DESIRES.
  18. It is more than being willing to put your agenda

on hold. It means intentionally being aware of people’s NEEDS, being AVAILABLE to help them, and able to accept their desires as IMPORTANT.
  19. GALATIANS 5:13 NCV 13 “But do not use your freedom

as an excuse to do what pleases your sinful self.”
  20. GALATIANS 6:2 AMP 2“You will fulfill the requirements of the

law of Christ [that is, the law of Christian love].”
  21. If we’re bearing in mind this “through love serve one

another” principle, we’re of course not going to ask others to do anything that is hurtful or harmful.
  22. Whether we’re doing the serving or others are serving us,

it’s all going to be loving and we’re all going to benefit.
  23. What we ask of others may sometimes be a sacrifice

for them, but by the same token, we will be serving them too and sometimes sacrificing for them, so it will be a two-way street.
  24. When it comes to that, then we have to have

quite a bit more grace and humility and yieldedness.
  25. PHILIPPIANS 2:6 NCV 6 “Christ Himself was like God in

everything. But He did not think that being equal..”
  26. PHILIPPIANS 2:7 NCV 7 “But He gave up His place

with God and made Himself nothing.”
  27. PHILIPPIANS 2:7 NCV 7 “He was born as a man

    and became like a servant.”
  28. Great leaders see the need, grab the opportunity, and serve

    without expecting anything in RETURN.
  29. As Christians we are all bound to serve others because

we have been given the greatest example of a servant leader in Jesus.
  30. MATTHEW 20:28 NIV 28 “Just as the Son of Man

did not come to be served,”
  31. MATTHEW 20:28 NIV 28 “But to serve, and to give

His life as a ransom for many."
  32. Jesus is the greatest leader that the world has ever

seen, He was the only one person that has ever walked in this earth with the right to claim superiority around Him, but He didn’t.
  33. Jesus is the greatest leader that the world has ever

seen, He was the only one person that has ever walked in this earth with the right to claim superiority around Him, but He didn’t.
  34. He took on the role of a servant, and gave

Himself to serve others to the point of sacrificing His life.
  35. 1 PETER 2:21 21 “Christ also suffered for us, leaving

us an example, that you should follow in His steps”
  36. His Father sent Him as a servant, Jesus had the

love and humility to do that for us, and He asks that we follow His example.
  37. 1 CORINTHIANS 13:1 NCV 1 “I may speak in different

languages of people or even angels.”
  38. 1 CORINTHIANS 13:1 NCV 1 “But if I do not

have love, I am only a noisy bell or a crashing cymbal.”
  39. 1 CORINTHIANS 13:2 NCV 2 “I may have the gift

of prophecy. I may understand all the secret things of God..”
  40. 1 CORINTHIANS 13:2 NCV 2 “And have all knowledge, and

I may have faith so great I can move mountains..”
  41. 1 CORINTHIANS 13:2 NCV 2 “But even with all these

things, if I do not have love, then I am nothing.”
  42. 1 CORINTHIANS 13:3 NCV 3 “I may give away everything

I have, and I may even give my body as an offering to be burned…”
  43. THE EXTENT OF YOUR INFLUENCE depends on the depth of

your love and concern for others.
  44. If people love you they will FOLLOW you, if people

follow you, then you are bound by God to SERVE them and see to their best interest.
  45. If people love you they will FOLLOW you, if people

follow you, then you are bound by God to SERVE them and see to their best interest.
  46. As Christians everything that we do is to be motivated

by love, and we can’t love people that way that we are suppose to if we are not willing to serve them, give from ourselves and make their best interest our top priority.
  47. As Christians everything that we do is to be motivated

by love, and we can’t love people that way that we are suppose to if we are not willing to serve them, give from ourselves and make their best interest our top priority.
  48. To be a servant leader in our family, where we

work, and especially in our service to God,
  49. So what are some questions that we can ask ourselves

to evaluate our attitude toward service?
  50. Do you want to become a leader for the perks

or benefits, or are you motivated by a desire to help OTHERS?
  51. How many people have you contacted that have not been

here in a while to let them know that you LOVE them and miss them?
  52. What is first on your priority list: your schedule, how

occupied you are, what you want to accomplish, how much recognition you get, how much money you make, or where people spend eternity, and how much you can be a part of seeing them come to KNOW and SERVE God?
  53. If you really want to be the kind of leader

that God intended you to be you have to settle the issue of SERVANTHOOD.
  54. 1 PETER 4:10 NCV 10 “Each of you has received

a gift to use to serve others.”
  55. Take time and willingly meet the needs of others without

    looking for recognition from people.
  56. When believers finally realize that our calling is to serve—not

merely to seek our own interests—then we will have an irresistible impact on this world.
