Presented at Working Products, Hamburg, 11 September 2026
AI can already do so much for us as Product People but saving time does not determine what that time is for. Product teams can turn those hours into more output, or use them to get closer to customers, colleagues and the consequences of their decisions.
This talk asks what is the uniquely human when AI can perform so much of the work. AI can recognize patterns in emotion and imitate caring language but it does not feel empathy or carry responsibility for what happens next.
Care begins when another person’s outcome changes the decision. Product judgment grows from understanding the people who must live with that decision.
You leave with a practical approach: automate the artifact and keep the understanding. Use the time AI returns for human contact. Make the judgment behind important decisions visible and shared.
For product managers and product leaders who want AI to increase their impact without creating more distance from the people they serve.
