which will fans that enjoy reading about there favourite singers. Along with Chris brown who is the central image of the front cover. Chris brown takes up the majority of the front cover, this draws the readers attention as he is a world famous artists. However his image is layered over the „vibe‟ heading, this connotes that the core fans of the magazine already knows the heading they don't necessarily need to know it, they just need or want to know the artists staring init. This also shows have Chris brown is more important than the magazine altogether because without the artists the magazine wouldn't exist . On Chris browns shirts there is a rhetorical question “R U STILL DOWN?” as this directly addresses the reader, this makes them feel important. His facial expression seems concerned and sympathetic towards the reader, which again makes them feel special. The fact that the writing is white stands against his t-shirt making it more obvious to the reader and one of the first things they are going to read . The colour scheme being yellow and black and white. This is a incorporated into the control image of Chris brown is wearing black also. However, the connotations of the colours are hazardous and potentially dangerous, such as a nuclear symbol. This may attract the reader as the colours are distinctive and bold, which is the purpose of the colours being a the same as a hazard sign.
the magazine in advertising Sell lines- writing which tells the reader about other articles in the magazine, they are usually down the side at the bottom Anchorage text- writing relating to the main image which tells you what the main picture is about Main image - the biggest picture on the page which is the main focus that sells the magazine as its the first thing you see as a viewer and if there is a artist you really like it draws you to it Puffs - give information about the content of the magazine and is usually in a circle or star, this is also to help sell the magazine to the reader as they want the magazine that has about the artists or event they are interested in The skyline – this usually gives information about offers that are going on and competitions but also sometimes have a list of names of artists that are wrote about in the magazine to attract fans
looking at. Outline of a „v‟ in the background to keep the look of vibe throughout the magazine. Although its subtitled so it doesn't draw the readers attention away from the pain part of the page – the content list. The main cover lines are to separate different articles of information into different category's, this is so that the magazine isn't confusing to read. Central image directly address the reader – making them feel very involved in the magazine and its pages, but also they wonder why she is the main image and focus making them want to read further into the magazine at the articles about the starts including her.
the text. This shows that the magazine has an online platform, probably to appeal to a wider audience as most people go online rather than read a magazine now as its cheaper and easier to read when traveling about. The close up on Lana Del Rays eye draws the readers attention to it. The look in her eye is a look of pain which then draws the attention to the blood dripping down her face. This pain could connote the mass age of her album at the time as heart break is a common theme in her music. The pictures dominates the page and only a small amount of text guides the readers to the pages they want according to which artist they want to read about. The colour scheme is white and red, keeping It simple and the red links to the title of the magazine „Q‟ magazine. The page isn't overloaded with too many pictures or information.
and the editor has decided to place them along the top half of the double page spread. The images of the artist have been set in black and white, the artist has posed in different positions in order to create the timeline of images that border the top half of the article, looking like she is dancing. The image has been cut out and has been set in front of the rest of the double page spread. Everything in the article has been set in monochrome or blue. Whereas the artist is wearing a bright orange dress which breaks up the colourless article and gives a bold statement when comparing it with the rest of the spread. I believe that the editor has chosen this image as it breaks up the text and when you first glance at the page it is the first thing you look at . The way they have added the thick broken line between the image and the text this creates less of a distraction when reading the article.. The line looks simple but effective way to make the artist look as it she is standing on the line. There isn't an obvious title for this double page spread, however, I believe this text that has been written and highlighted in the grey and blue is the title. All the text has been set below the monochrome image and broken lines. The text used in the article is simple yet easy to read, as some articles it becomes confusing where the paragraph leads onto. The text in this article has been written between both pages and has been broken up within the images and bold text in between. The text has been written in a small sized font. The article has been written in four separate columns and at the very start of the article there is a few sentences that have been written in a larger text and different colour to the text in the article in order to create a summary for the article. Along side the artist there is a paragraph of bold writing that is used as the content relates to the artist. That way it has been put in bold and a different size and style tells the reader it is an important quote.
statement yet simplicity of the photograph gives a greater effect when placed next to the article. The background of the image being faded red and blue which could connote the artists moods ect. The artist wearing sunglasses whilst staring straight at the camera, the facial expression is very stern and almost intimidating to give the idea that the artist is a from the rap culture. The chain round his neck also suggests this and gives a statement being against a black top. The title of the double page spread has been written really small suggesting that it isn't as important as the artist itself. The tile is outlined with a thin black boarder keeping the title separate from the text within the magazine. There are also some lines/dashes that have been placed each side of the title in order to frame it. The article is only set on the right hand side and the image on the left making the image a lot more bold and important as its sat on its own page not mixed between everything else. The small font and the size of the colleens have kept the same width between to create an even effect throughout the article. The text has been written in a simple front and as its black its easy to read when set against the red „J‟ and the white background. Bright red text has been layered over the top of the image. I believe the red text has been used as it makes a bold contrast when layered over the top of the black. The red also links in with the red background behind the image and the red „J‟ that is placed on the right side of the article. There is a redline placed above the red text which may have been used to separate the text from the image. The „J‟ that is beneath the simple text but affective as it creates contrast with the image onto the other side of the page. I like the way the „J‟ has lined the top and bottom of the text within the column. The editor of the magazine may have adjusted the opacity of the „J‟ in order to make the text easier to read. The „J‟ is centred within the left hand side of the page with the middle of the „J‟.
