Smurfs: The Lost Village - "Howlibird Nest"

This exploratory sequence was entirely conceived and written in the story sketch phase. The bare bones of the concept was this: Hefty Smurf and his riding bunny Honcho get separated from Smurfette and Brainy by the predatory Howlibird, having been snatched away to its ominous nest as dinner. By the end of the sequence, Hefty needs to have gained the trust and friendship of the Howlibird. The rest of the gory details were left up to me. In order to achieve this goal, I ended up constructing and writing the entire sequence around the premise that the Howlibird mistakes Hefty for one of its hatchlings. The comedy pretty much wrote itself from there.
