Fracking & Crowdcrafting

What do you think about fracking? Is it important? Are we getting the truth? In this presentation I show how a group of citizens managed to analyze the fracking activity in Pennsylvania state using the open source and science service Crowdcrafting.

10. Why these dates? “Because in 2005, 2008, and 2010, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Aerial Imagery Program (NAIP)”
11. But more importantly “Because most of the drilling and fracking targeting the Marcellus Shale has happened since 2004”

14. Setting up the project 10 different volunteers reviewed each image
15. Setting up the project 90k classifications 10 different volunteers reviewed each image
17. Results 233 people participated 29 days to complete all the analysis
