  3. Faced with the horror and the violence of the Second

    World War, the Europeans decide to build a common political project. The objective: Avoid going to war against each other again.   5. The fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 marks the

    reunification not only of Germany but also of the whole of Europe, separated until then between capitalist countries and communist countries. In 1961, the soviets build a wall in Berlin that separates communist Germany (in the East) from capitalist Germany (in the West).
