New Recreational Uses along the Inherited Landscape of Venice’s Historic Waterways

How is it possible to re-evaluate and revitalize the abandoned heritage of Venice’s historic inland waterways?

Out of more than 30 million tourist visiting Venice every year, only a limited number know that the historic city of Venice is not located on the seaside, but in the fragile environment of a coastal Lagoon. What is more, while the image of Venice is always associated to developing maritime trades eastward, only few people know that Venice has spent for centuries enormous amount of money to “design” its hydraulic landscape westward.
