  1. What’s the best way to practise your French? With natives

of course! Not all of us live in France though, so here are some posts to practise your reading with, from my great French friends. French Facebook
  2. Hopefully you can understand this post from one of my

French ex-classmates. The only slang-ish feature here is the y’a which means il y a (there is).
  3. I finally found something other than teenagers complementing each other

(maybe I should add those too?) and here we have a quote. It uses the verb rendre and gerunds (en _ant). If you want to learn more about the gerunds I suggest: http://french.about.com/od/grammar/a/presentparticiple_2.htm
  4. This is how to say ‘thanks for the happy birthdays’

in French. It uses an informal contraction – j’vous – and an animal endearment – les poules (chickens).
  5. This is four of my friends, talking about how much

they miss each other while one of them is in London. It includes verlan (meuf), an informal contraction (jreviens – je reviens) and philo, which is short for philosophie.
  6. If you haven’t noticed, French people seem to write their

facebook in a kind of poetry.. but at least they seem to use fairly good spelling and grammar.
