    learn from it • Week 2: How it plays in to “What must I do to be saved?”
  6. The Injured Man Q: What do we know about the

    man who was injured? Was he important? Rich? Poor? Jewish? - We don’t know! Q: Why does Jesus not give more detail about the man? - Because it’s not important – he is made in the image of God and so he has value! Q: Does this story only apply to victims of crimes? Are we only supposed to help people in those scenarios? - Of course not. Q: Where else do we see life injuring people?
  7. The Priest and the Levites Q: Why didn’t the priest

    and Levite help? Q: Why did Jesus choose specifically a priest and Levite for the story?
  8. The Samaritan Q: Why did Jesus choose a Samaritan to

    be the hero of the story? Q: What do we know about the Samaritan- Jewish relationship? Q: What all did the Samaritan do for the man? - Saw the need - Stopped his schedule - Touched the man – got involved - Sacrificed financially - Followed through
  9. Serve Q: What keeps us from seeing people in need

    and not acting on it? Q: Do we look enough? Q: Do we think we can help? Q: Are we willing to sacrifice? Q: Are we just too busy? Q: Should we feel guilty that we can not fix the entire world? Q: What was the Samaritan responsible for – fixing the entire Jericho road? Helping every person on it and clearing it of robbers?
  10. Prayer • Julia: Her paternal grandparents are getting older and

    having a harder time taking care of themselves. • Neal & Liz: both are trying to finish grad school, Liz continues to struggle with health issues • Marcus’ mom: praise for her health and for all God has done in Marcus’ life, thanks for Deaf Church. • Brock Faulkner – continuing to undergo Leukemia treatments in Houston, his children are sick and can’t come visit him.
