  6. Auxiliary nurse midwife (ANM) ANM is a village-level female health

    worker in India who is known as the first contact person between the community and the health services. ANMs are expected to be multi-purpose health workers. Accredited social health activists (ASHA) ASHA are local women trained to act as health educators and promoters in their communities. She also act as a depot holder for essential provisions being made available to all habitations. Anganwadi workers Anganwadi workers provide care for newborn babies, antenatal care for pregnant women and ensure that all children below the age of 6 are immunized. Multipurpose Health Workers (MPW or MHW - Male and Female) MHW works for the delivery of preventive and promotive health care services to the community at the level of Sub-Health Centres.
