What about AI? • Open Source Initiative has released a definition of “Open Source AI” - it has challenges • Open source IS the best and ONLY way to ensure that we can collectively manage safety and security and not be dependent on commercial/corporate interests. • Training data, code to models, weights etc must be openly available for developers to inspect, improve, adapt. 24
