  1. • God’s Intentions –The Lord God said, “It is not

good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” (Gen. 2:18) –That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. (Gen. 2:24)
  2. • Purpose: Couples begin knowing that the purpose of the

relationship is marriage. • Destination: Courting has a long term end in view. There’s no casual courting, • Caveat: Reserved only for couples who are mentally, physically, spiritually and emotionally mature enough for marriage.
  3. Pitfalls • No accountability couple (AC) • No blessing of

AC • Singles & AC’s fail to listen to God and wait on His direction • AC’s fail to consider the singles. • Singles fail to complete the courtship process. • Singles think courtship is just another form of dating. • Singles expect perfection from the other. • AC’S expect the potential mate to be perfect.
  4. Benefits • Keeping focus on Christ & not each other

or the relationship • Bypassing counterfeit oneness found in dating • Establish and enhance comm. Between parents and/or AC’s. • Giving the parents/AC’s the chance to see virtues and vices of a future mate.
  5. Benefits • Being based on accountability first, then completion of

courtship preparation before courtship begins. • Having commitment as its cornerstone, thus building a solid foundation for a lifelong marriage.
