contribute to solving? • Is there a skill you have you’d like to share with others? • Is there a hobby that brings you joy you want to take to the next level? @kthomas901 #Laracon Finding a meaningful project
  3. How to get started? @kthomas901 #Laracon • What skills do

you need to do this project? • What is the MVP you would be comfortable with launching to the world? • Is it going to cost you any money? • How much time do you have to work on it?
  4. Find what motivates you Outer expectations are set by other

external forces. Check out: The Four Tendencies by Gretchen Rubin @kthomas901 #Laracon Do you respond well to inner or outer expectations? Inner expectations are goals or deadlines set by yourself.
  5. Planning • Write down all the things you hope to

do and accomplish with this project @kthomas901 #Laracon • Pick the most important 2-3 things that you can start with and split them into mini goals • Use a tool to help you track your work (Trello, Asana, etc)
  6. Time Management Limit the amount of time you work on

it. Whether it’s one hour a week or a day, don’t allow yourself to go overboard and burnout from something that’s supposed to give you joy or fulfillment. @kthomas901 #Laracon
  7. Get your work out into the world It’ll never be

perfect. Once you finish working on those 2-3 things you outlined, launch it! @kthomas901 #Laracon
  8. Asking for help After accomplishing those first 2-3 goals, do

you think you need help of others to accomplish the next 2-3? @kthomas901 #Laracon
  9. Full time job vs full time projects Not everyone wants

a full time hustle! Wanting the security and stability from a corporate job is completely okay. @kthomas901 #Laracon
  10. Self-care & side hustles It‘s okay to take a break.

The beauty of a side project is there is no one measuring your performance or evaluating your worth based off your productivity. Realize when you need to step away from it and revisit it whenever you are in a better place. @kthomas901 #Laracon
  11. Sometimes things come to an end Don’t continue something just

for the sake of continuing. Ask yourself: • Is this project still fulfilling my original intention or purpose? • Do I still feel joy working on it? • Is it taking more time/money than I can manage? @kthomas901 #Laracon
