    and images before detailed planning application submitted -  Created a buzz a month before the event to raise awareness in plenty of time -  As well as media interviews with key media we had several announcements in the run up to the event which all mentioned the public consultation

    stakeholders; businesses, MPs and market traders -  Designed leaflets, questionnaires and printed panels -  Notice in the Yorkshire Post and banner ads on the Yorkshire Post online -  Launched Twitter and Facebook
  4. Launch day. -  Launched on Wednesday in Kirkgate Market exclusively

    to market traders -  Invited Rod McPhee from YEP so could do piece for his Thursday column
  5. Public launch. -  Opened to public and media in the

    VQ Thursday to Saturday -  Began tweeting and updating Facebook -  Radio Aire interview and Yorkshire Evening Post vox pop interviews
  6. Key stats. -  Almost 3,500 visitors over the four days

    -  55 pieces of media coverage with 30 direct mentions of the public consultation -  Opportunities to see – over 5.5m -  More than 100 Twitter followers within 24 hours -  More than 100 likes within 12 hours on Facebook -  Over the four days 115 tweets discussed the public consultation -  A quarter of attendees heard about the public consultation through the media – one fifth at the event itself by walking past and almost fifth ticked other – the media coverage definitely helped to drive people to the event -  More than 3,000 unique visitors to the website over the public consultation period
