Funder Public Access Requirements

Funder Public Access Requirements

This workshop will include a detailed look at funder public access requirements and some of the things libraries and librarians can do to help our researchers ensure compliance. We'll cover the status of both publications and data requirements, various systems in place to comply, and where things seem to be headed. STEM-related research funders have been more active in clarifying requirements and monitoring compliance so far, but these requirements are impacting researchers in all disciplines and non-STEM funders are getting more active in this area.

experiences do you have with this topic so far? Is there anything specific you hope to get out of or contribute to this session?
  3. Public Access We the People petition We believe in the

power of the Internet to foster innovation, research, and education. Requiring the published results of taxpayer-funded research to be posted on the Internet in human and machine readable form would provide access to patients and caregivers, students and their teachers, researchers, entrepreneurs, and other taxpayers who paid for the research. Expanding access would speed the research process and increase the return on our investment in scientific research.
