2. こんな状況ではありませんか / If you are facing these problems... 自分は英語が得意ではないので、英 語ミーティングでは、意見がなかなか 言えない。 I’m not good at speaking English, and it’s hard to express my opinion in English during meetings. やさしい言葉で話したつもりだけど、 うまく通じなかった。 I thought I spoke in a Yasashii way, but it didn’t seem to work. 英語がわかる人同士、日本語がわか る人同士だけで話が進んでいる気が する。 Conversations progress separately among people that can understand English or Japanese. レッスンなどで使う英語や日本語なら理 解できるのに、普段みんなが使っている 英語や日本語がわからない。 I can understand English/Japanese during lessons, but when I am in other situations, I don’t understand. ミーティングで理解できない部分が あったけど、次のトピックに移ってし まって、質問のタイミングがなく困って いる。 The topics change too quickly for me to make sure I understood.
3. トレーニング詳細 / Details of Training 目的 / Purpose: • 英語学習や日本語学習の困難を知ることによって、歩み寄りができるようになる Knowing each other's difficulties of learning English and Japanese, so that speakers can “meet each other halfway” • 言語やコミュニケーションの壁を低くし、個人の可能性を最大限 Unleashしていく Lowering language and communication barriers to maximize and unleash each individuals’ potential
4. トレーニング詳細 / Details of Training 目標 / Goals: • やさしいコミュニケーションの大切さを理解する Understand the importance of Yasashii Communication • 自分の意見を言うこと、相手の意見を理解することに対し、言語が壁にならない状態を作る Ensure language is not a barrier to expressing one’s opinion and understanding the opinions of others • 全員が議論に参加できるインクルーシブな環境を作れるようコミュニケーションのベスト・プラク ティスを決める Decide on communication best practices to create an inclusive environment where everyone can participate in discussions
5. トレーニング詳細 / Details of Training 内容 / Content: • やさしい英語とやさしい日本語の基本的なことを理解する Understand the basics of Yasashii Eigo & Yasashii Nihongo • やさしくない日本語・英語からやさしい日本語・英語への言い換え練習を行う Practice fixing non-yasashii Eigo & Nihongo • チームのコミュニケーション・ベスト・プラクティスを話し合い決める Discuss & decide on the team’s Communication Best Practices

7. トレーニング詳細 / Details of Training 対象者 / Target: • 人数：2人〜 Size: 2+ • コミュニケーションを良くしたいと考えているチーム Teams that are eager to improve their communication ＊特に英語学習者と日本語学習者、そして母語話者が混在するチームにお勧めですが、多言語環 境ではないチームへも実施可能です。 While we recommend this training for teams with a mix of English/Japanese learners and native speakers, teams that currently operate in a monolingual environment can also benefit from this training.

9. やさしいコミュニケーション研修参加者の声/ Participant Comments • ミーティング開始時にファシリテーターが、やさしいコミュニケーションを行うことを宣言している。 • みんなやさしい言葉を使うように心がけてくれていると感じたし、やさしくない言葉をつかったときにやさしくないと指摘できる空気があった。 • 簡潔かつわかりやすい日本語を使うように心がけるようになった。 • I learned new ways to approach language choices. • People had such mindset to have yasashii communications • The word "Yasashii English/Nihongo" is now popular in the team, and we sometimes mention it before MTG as a reminder. Other Comments * 原文のまま引用 / Unedited comments 自分自身が英語で意見を言うことに対して積極的になり、コミュニケーションが増えた気がする。理由として は、全員が流暢に話すことができなくても当たり前なんだと知ることができたのでジャッジされていないんだと 思えるようになったからです。 I think the most important thing for improve communication amongst the team was actually increasing awareness of the difficulties of communication in both Japanese and English speakers' aspect of views. In the session, due to some hands-on exercises, we were able to talk deeply about how we understand another language and talk to reduce the communication cost.
