4. “In essentials, that is absolutely and completely necessary” -UNITY
5. “Non-essentials, something that is not important” -LIBERTY
6. In all things, WE MUST PRACTICE Love Love
7. Jesus’ great desire for His disciples was that they become ONE
8. He wanted them unified as a POWERFUL WITNESS to the reality of God’s love
9. Jesus prayed for unity among believers based on the believer’s unity with Him and the Father
10. Believers can know UNITY among themselves if they are living in union with God

12. 1 How truly wonderful and delightful to see brothers and sisters living together in sweet unity! PSALMS 133:1 TPT
13. Makes the church a POSITIVE EXAMPLE to the world UNITY UNITY
14. And helps draw others to the Lord UNITY UNITY
15. Helps us COOPERATE As a body of believers UNITY UNITY
16. As God meant us to, giving us a foretaste of Heaven
17. RENEWS and REVITALIZES ministry UNITY UNITY
18. Because there is less tension to sap our energy
19. Living in unity does not mean that we will agree on everything
20. There will be many opinions just as there are many notes in a musical chord
21. We must AGREE on our purpose in life to WORK TOGETHER for God
22. Our outward expression of unity will reflect our outward inward PURPOSE unity of
23. 14 Beyond all these things put on and wrap yourselves in [unselfish] love, COLOSSIANS 3:14 AMP
24. 14 Which is the perfect bond of unity [for everything is bound… COLOSSIANS 3:14 AMP
25. 14 together in agreement when each one seeks the best for others] COLOSSIANS 3:14 AMP
26. Paul encourages us to develop loving one another which binds us all together in perfect unity
27. To CLOTHE OURSELVES with love leads to Peace
28. Between individuals and among the members of the body of believers

30. 12 The human body has many parts, but the many parts… 1 CORINTHIANS 12:12 NLT
31. 12…make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ. 1 CORINTHIANS 12:12 NLT
32. Paul writes to the Corinthian church that each one who made a commitment to Christ is a valuable member of the body of Christ
33. Paul tells them that the body is made up of many individuals, different, unique, diverse parts and that each one is important
34. Just like a physical body, each part has a SPECIFIC FUNCTION that is necessary to the body as a whole
35. Each one of us is UNIQUE Appearance Character Gifts Maturity Abilities
36. We are unique in appearance, unique in character, unique in our gifts,
37. Unique in our maturity, unique in our abilities and unique in so many ways
38. YOUare the BEST PERSON to be you
39. There’s no one else who could be you any better than YOU
40. NOBODY does it better, NOBODY does it half as good as you, YOU’RE THE BEST!
41. Our roles are different, yet equally important, each person doing a job in this church family is just important as the next person.
42. 5 So we, who are many, are [nevertheless just] one body in Christ, … ROMANS 12:5 AMP
43. 5 and individually [we are] parts one of another [mutually dependent on each other] ROMANS 12:5 AMP
44. Paul uses the concept of the human body to teach how believers should live and work together
45. Just as the parts of the body function under the direction of the brain,
46. Believers are to work together under the command and authority to Jesus Christ

48. 1 You, therefore, will be perfect [growing into spiritual maturity both in mind and character, MATTHEW 5:48 AMP
49. 1 …actively integrating godly values into your daily life], as your heavenly Father is perfect. MATTHEW 5:48 AMP
50. How can we be Perfect?
51. IN CHARACTER, In this life we cannot be flawless,
52. But we can aspire to be much like Christ as possible
53. IN HOLINESS, we are to separate ourselves from the world’s sinful values,
54. We are to be devoted to God’s desires rather than our own and carry His love and mercy into the world
55. IN MATURITY, We cannot achieve Christlike character and holy living all at once
56. But we must GROW toward maturity & wholeness
57. Just as we expect different behavior from a baby, a child, a teenager, and an adult
58. So God expects a DIFFERENT BEHAVIOR from us depending on our stage of spiritual development
59. IN LOVE, we can seek to love others as completely as God loves us
60. We can be perfect if our behavior is appropriate for our maturity level, perfect yet with much room to grow.
61. Our tendency to sin must never deter us from striving to be more like Christ
62. Christ calls all His disciples to EXCEL, to raise above mediocrity
63. And to MATURE in every area, becoming like Him
64. 29 For those whom He foreknew [and loved and chose beforehand], ROMANS 8:29 AMP
65. 29 He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son… ROMANS 8:29 AMP
66. 29 …[and ultimately share in His complete sanctification], ROMANS 8:29 AMP
67. 29 So that He would be the firstborn [the most beloved and honored] among many believers. ROMANS 8:29 AMP
68. God’s ULTIMATE GOAL for us is to make us like Christ
69. As we become more and more like Him,
70. We DISCOVER our true selves, the person we are created to be
71. The believer’s life is a PROCESS of becoming more and more like Christ
72. Knowing that God knew us before the foundation of the world should motivate us to strive for maturity

74. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, MATTHEW 28:19 NLT

78. God has given His Church an enormous responsibility to make disciples in every nation
79. If we had to fulfill this command as individuals, we might as well give up without trying, it would be impossible
80. But God called us as members of His BODY
81. TOGETHER we can obey God more fully than any of us could alone
82. As the body of Christ, we can accomplish more together than we would dream possible working by ourselves.
83. WORKING TOGETHER, the Church can express the fullness of Christ
