  1. … a lot still remains unchanged and the wounds still

fester and remain untreated. A lot of the challenges confronting Africa stem from the systematic exclusion and indignation of the vast majority of the African people on the basis of their skin colour through decades of colonialism. Africa is at war with itself there isn’t a single part of the continent where Africans aren’t engaged in some form of war amongst themselves. We are killing each other in Sudan, we are killing each other in Egypt, we are killing each other in the Congo, we are killing each other in Nigeria, Libya, Somalia all over Africa the African is engaged in a mass suicide. Challenges facing Africa
  2. The contemporary westernized African is at the mercy of drugs,

poverty, corruption and all these serve to subjugate him to the whims of the “conceptual west” further imprisoning his mentality. “If you give them water to quench their thirst, they use it to drown themselves. If you give them a rope to climb out of their situation, they use it to hang themselves with it.” — ’Alik Shahadah. Mental Slavery
  3. Lack of true leadership (“A nation of wolves led by

sheep”) Africa doesn’t need charity, it needs true leaders. Leaders that sacrifice their personal gain for the general good. Egalitarian leaders that govern to create comfort and opportunity for young Africans. Leaders that are the trustees of their people and not their overlords. How did we arrive at this, that the best leader is the one that knows how to beg for a share of what he has already given away at the price of a broken tool? Where is the future of Africa?” ― Ngũgĩ wa Thiong'o, Wizard of the Crow
  4. Africa’s quiescent youth population. There are a lot of young

people in Africa who are eager to learn and to realize their potential. They seek respected mentors and resources to help them navigate the complex life challenges they face. However there is a dearth of institutions and curricula to help them realize such desires. Africa’s large youth population present a great opportunity to influence the emergence of a new cadre of leaders and as such African governments and business must do more to ensure that young people have the opportunities and tools necessary The youth must be actively encouraged to help create innovative and smart solutions to Africa’s challenges in order to transform and build a prosperous Africa
  5. The vast wealth of Africa Africa is blessed with vast

amounts of arable land (632 million hectares) of which 453 million hectares is uncultivated. we are blessed with over 30% of the world’s mineral reserves these include gold, platinum, diamonds, manganese, cobalt and natural gas. The continent has also been adorned with an abundance of flora and fauna and covered with scenic mountains and rivers that flow into oceans in front of gorgeous beaches spreading over four distinct climatic regions.
