The Godfather Project It’s about our kids and the people
who take care of our kids a Start Foundation project http://slashstart.org/
The Problem What happens to our kids when we can’t
take care of them, especially if they’re still young? © 2012 Sridhar Machani 2 June 2012 2
Guessing… At best • Spouse/family takes care of the kids.
• No financial issues. • No moral support/decision making/guidance issues. At worst • Kids miss our absence. • Lack of adequate help with finance, hand- holding/guidance on key decisions (education/career), and any other troubles they get into. 2 June 2012 © 2012 Sridhar Machani 3
Godfather? From the Wikipedia: “Traditionally, godparents were informally responsible for
ensuring the child's religious education was carried out, and for caring for the child should he/she be orphaned. Today, the word godparent might not have explicitly religious overtones. The modern view of a godparent tends to be an individual chosen by the parents to take an interest in the child's upbringing and personal development.” 2 June 2012 © 2012 Sridhar Machani 4
The Godfather Project Power of a community of people you
trust: your friends + Streamlined workflows and tools = Your kids are in safe hands, will be taken care of, the way you would have (well, almost). Peace for you/your family, always. 2 June 2012 © 2012 Sridhar Machani 5
