This survey aims to investigate the barriers faced by individuals working in the automotive industry when contributing to open source software (OSS).

OSS plays a vital role in driving technological innovation and advancing the industry as a whole. Beyond simply using OSS, active contributions are essential for the sustainable growth of both the OSS community and participating companies. However, there are various challenges and obstacles that arise when attempting to contribute.

In the automotive industry, OSS contributions are currently less common compared to other sectors. Through this survey, we hope to identify the specific issues and challenges you face, clarify the factors that hinder OSS contributions, and ultimately promote OSS engagement not only within the automotive industry but across society as a whole.
